Many of the members of this guild are Canon shooters and in no way is this next topic aimed at being non-inclusive to the Nikon brothers and sisters. With that said, we'd be interested to know how you feel about the differences between the new Canon 30D and the 20D. Feel free to recommend away.

I think that the Canon 1d Mark IIn is the camera of choice!
I'd love to be able to afford that body, but as it is right now, I'll have to pick something a little more affordable. My goal is to have an upgrade from our 300D within a few months.
Then I would choose the 30D. Newer technology, bigger LCD. When I bought my 10D, the next week the 20D was announced.
Check out ebay for buying a camera. I bought my Canon 1D on ebay.

It is around $1200 at adorama or B&H. Most of the low-price sites do say they give a US warrentee and they are sealed and brand new.

A quick update. I ended up going with a 30D about two months ago (Jan now) and haven't regretted it. I shot some Taekwondo portraits last month and grossed enough to pay off the new body. We also ended up with a battery pack and a 430ex which should help out a lot. More equipment chat later.
